IISER Bhopal invites applications from eligible candidates with excellent track record for faculty positions at various levels in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (English, Philosophy of Science, and Psychology), Mathematics and Physics. Applicants should have an excellent academic record with Doctoral Degree along with experience in research/
development / industry. Applicants who do not fulfill minimum experience
requirements may be offered an appointment on contract.
The requirements of minimum qualification and/or experience may be relaxed in the case of candidates with outstanding credentials. Allowances and perks will be given as per Government of India norms.
Assistant Professor (on contractual basis): To enable bright young Ph.D’s to teach and earn experience in IISER Bhopal. At the entry level they will be placed in PB-3 on Pay scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.6,000/- per month with 7 non compounded advance increments (which means an Assistant Professor on contractual basis appointed initially will get a basic of Rs.31,592/- plus admissible DA as on date). In addition they are entitled for other admissible perks.
After one year of post Ph.D experience they will be placed in AGP of Rs.7,000/- per month.
Assistant Professor : (Pay scale of Rs. 15,600-39,100 (Minimum pay in the pay band to be fixed at Rs.30,000/-) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8,000/-) : Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout and at least 3 years of quality post-doctoral experience from premier institutes.
Associate Professor : (Pay scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000 (Minimum pay in the pay band to be fixed at Rs.42,800/-) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9,500/-) : Ph.D. with a first class at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years of teaching/research experience of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
Professor : (Pay scale of Rs. 37,400-67,000 (Minimum pay in the pay band to be fixed at Rs.48,000/-) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10,500/-) :
Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years of teaching/research experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IISERs or at a equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution or institutions of comparable standards as may be so decided by IISER Bhopal.
