Hollywood actress Kim Cattrall says she doesn't regret being single and childless at the age of 53.

The Sex and the City star, who married thrice in the past, blames her workload for her single status. However, she's adamant she has learnt to love life as a single lady - even though she's missed out on starting a family, reports express.co.uk.

"I don't regret (not having children). It's fine, it really is. I'm a pretty good auntie and I have a lot of friends with kids," said Cattrall.

"At the end of the day I like to go home and be quiet and have time to relax," she added.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had other worries on their minds at last year's Academy Award ceremony than Jennifer Aniston's appearance onstage, comedy writer Bruce Vilanch has revealed.

Vilanch said he informed the couple about the "nostril camera" before former Mrs Pitt went onstage.

"I went to Brad and Angelina, who were sitting in the front row, and warned them they had the nostril cam planted on the floor underneath them, looking up,” the New York Post quoted Vilanch as saying.

“Mostly, they were not delighted about the angle, because nobody looks great from there. They knew there would be reaction shots of them, and they knew Aniston was going to be on.

“They were more bothered about the nostril cam. Brad asked, 'Any chance we could kick it and break it?'," he added.

Actress Anne Hathaway has been chosen to announce the Oscar nominations on February 2, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said on Tuesday.

Hathaway will join Academy President Tom Sherak at the early morning event, that signals the start of the most important stage in the awards season, culminating in the Oscar ceremony on March 7.

Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal is planning to take a break from acting to pursue a course at the Columbia University, New York.

The October Sky star had quit his course at the university to pursue a career in Hollywood, reports express.co.uk.

A new biography of Hollywood actor and director Warren Beatty claims that he has slept with close to 13,000 women during the course of his busy life.

The New York Post revealed details of the book, Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America, on Monday.

Author Ron Biskind, who claims the biography was authorised by Beatty, said he arrived at the total of 12,775 by using simple arithmetic over the course of the life of the 72-year-old star, who the book says did not lose his virginity till he was almost 20 years old.

"12,775 women, give or take, a figure that does not include daytime quickies, drive-bys, casual gropings, stolen kisses and so on," the report quoted the book as saying.

Beatty, who has been married to actress Annette Benning since 1992, is most famously associated with entertainment legends like Jane Fonda, Joan Collins, Madonna, Diane Keaton and Julie Christie.

But the book says that he was an "equal-opportunity seducer who would sleep with almost any available woman." The biography quotes an intern on the 1974 movie, The Parallax View, as saying that he witnessed a steady stream of women make their way into Beatty's trailer: "Some of the girls were not particularly attractive. Some were chubby, some had hints of moustaches on their upper lips. Some had the errant pimple or mole or other blemishes."

The book also quotes a former lover of Beatty's who was rejected by her husband after she had a mastectomy to treat breast cancer. Beatty was outraged when he heard that and said: "I'd f*** you in a second. Fly out here."

In a statement to the Huffington Post, Beatty's attorney, Bertram Fields, denied the book was authorised by the actor.

"Mr Biskind's tedious and boring book on Mr Beatty was not authorised by Mr Beatty and should not be published as an authorised biography," Fields said.

"It contains many false assertions and purportedly quotes Mr Beatty as saying things he never said. Other media should not repeat things from the book on the assumption that they are true or that the book is an authorised biography.

A journalist has sued Tom Cruise over allegations that the actor hired private detective Anthony Pellicano to tap his phone. The journalist is now demanding $5 million in damages.

According to documents filed at Los Angeles' County Superior Court, Michael Davis Sapir claims that Pellicano bugged his phone on the orders of Cruise, reported imdb.com.

It is not the first time Sapir and Cruise have come up against each other in court. In 2001, the superstar sued Sapir after he alleged to have video evidence that the actor was in a gay relationship.

They settled out of court the same year and both stated that the tape never existed.
